Hello!

I'm Erica Webb and I'm thrilled to 'meet' you.

I'm a registered Counsellor (ACA), Somatic Exercise Coach and Yoga Teacher. I'm also a Highly Sensitive Person and self-kindness advocate.

I support other Highly Sensitive and Neurodivergent people to befriend themselves. If that's you, that includes befriending and nurturing your unique sensitivities and your body.

I know what it's like to feel flawed as a sensitive human. I navigated my childhood, teens and early-mid adulthood feeling broken and too sensitive for the demands of the world. Looking back, I can see my overwhelmed, overstimulated mind and body doing the best they could. At the time though, I was riddled with shame, embarrassment and frustration. Why could everyone else cope with things that I found unbearable?

I have navigated chronic tension, an autoimmune condition, anxiety, trauma and ... life as a sensitive person. What I realised on this journey was that so much of what I experienced lived IN me, invisible to friends, family and the world in general. That often made me feel lonely and misunderstood.

Honestly, it took me a long time to recognise that my sensitivity was at play. Thankfully, I learned a lot along the way about self-compassion, kindness and the role of movement in regulating my often overwhelmed nervous system. My goal now? To share what I know - both personally and professionally - to support you to befriend your sensitivity and your body.

Why? So that, instead of feeling like you’re constantly battling with yourself or believing you're just one good '
get your shit together session' away from finally feeling capable, you can lead with self-kindness and respect for the body, mind and nervous system that are yours.

A few fun (or not fun, but accurate!) facts about me:

I took up rollerskating at the age of 40
I started playing basketball at the age of 38
My favourite food of all time is chocolate chip cookies
I was born in Canada and moved to Australia when I was 6 years old
I am a donor conceived person, and only learned that truth as an adult
I have two sons who are also deeply sensitive
My sensory sensitivities run deep: I detest having my belly button touched; do not like fans blowing on me, ever; cannot deal with the texture of raw tomato; and cannot watch (or, more accurately: listen to) another person brush their teeth without freaking out a little.

It's so great to have you here. I'm looking forward to connecting.

Here's to meeting yourself with kindness and curiosity.

Erica
