My fellow Highly Sensitive Human, it's nice to have you here.
I know, as a sensitive human myself, how overwhelming it can be to feel so deeply.

Overthinking, emotional overwhelm, physical aches and pains, sleepless nights ...
they're some of the challenges we can face as sensitive folk.
And yet, there's a power in your sensitivity, isn't there?
A depth that feels important, even in its vulnerability and tenderness.
Here, in the SelfKind Hub, we celebrate the strengths that come with our sensitivity, while exploring how to navigate the trickier bits.
Our work here (but not in that icky productivity-centred use of the word!) is embodiment: exploring the inherent connection between mind and body.
The ultimate goal? A self-compassionate and kind relationship with ourselves;
and greater confidence navigating this human life as a sensitive soul.

Mindful movement is at the heart of the SelfKind Hub.
Primarily, it's a combination of Somatic Exercise and gentle Yoga.
But this is not a traditional exercise space.
Instead, it's a space for:
~ Feeling ~
~ Resting ~
~ Slowing down ~
~ Connecting ~
~ Being ~

That's not to say that traditional exercise is bad.
No, not at all. I'm a big fan. It's just not what this space is.
As a sensitive person you're so used to being pushed and to pushing yourself.
Masking when you're uncomfortable
Ignoring your body's cries for rest
Doing the emotional labour for eeeeveryone.
The SelfKind Hub is not like that.
Instead, it's an invitation to nurture, regulate, explore, get curious, and lean deeply into self-kindness and compassion.
It's movement, but soft, gentle and restful.
On-demand classes that you can do from the comfort of your own space (and regular livestream options too!)
When you move with curiosity and
self-compassion, things shift.
You loosen the armour that has protected your tenderness.
Your shoulders soften, your belly unclenches, your breath deepens.
Ahhh ... you're home.

The classes inside the hub are pretty unique - somatic exercise and gentle yoga. These classes ask you to move slowly and gently but they still deliver BIG time on increasing ease, mobility and comfort.

And it's not just about the body - through these classes you will foster more self-compassion, kindness, trust and understanding.

And that's reinforced through Masterclasses, mini courses and more.
What is Somatic Exercise?
I keep mentioning Somatic Exercise, but what actually is it?
Somatic Exercise is a mindful movement modality that uses pandiculation to create more ease in the body. While it sounds like a big, complicated word, pandiculation isn't actually unfamiliar - just think of the movement of a cat waking up from a nap and taking a big stretch.

Essentially, somatic exercise involves a muscular contraction followed by a slow release, finished off with a moment of melt (aaaah).
We generally pandiculate specific areas of the body in any one movement, to support the brain-body connection (which matters a lot when it comes to reducing pain and tension and increasing ease) and to shift tension in that area.
Somatic exercise is not stretching (though we do stretch in classes as well); it's not strength training (though it can support strength training significantly).
It's a brain-body technique that can reduce tension and enhance your capacity to listen to and connect with your body through slow, mindful, gentle movement.

What's inside the SelfKind Hub?
The SelfKind Hub is built around my GRO framework.
GRO stands for Ground - Release - Orient three core skills that every Highly Sensitive Person can benefit from.

Ground is about finding or generating a sense of inner safety. Safety is your nervous system's number one priority, and without a sense of safety, you'll feel wound up, on edge, tense and exhausted. This is our guided meditations, breathing practices and more inside the SelfKind Hub.

Release is the full body exhale. Think movement that supports you to unwind tension and rest with more ease. Release also includes strategies for managing self-criticism and unrealistic expectations. This is our library of movement classes and livestream classes inside the SelfKind Hub, as well as our Masterclasses.

Orient is about knowing what matters to you. This is your values and how they show up in your world. Think self-kindness, compassion, self-care and all that good stuff! This is our Masterclasses and Mini Courses inside the SelfKind Hub.
The SelfKind Hub could be for you if you are:
Highly Sensitive (which includes highly sensitive people who are also neurodivergent - Autistic, ADHD etc).

Ready to prioritise yourself. You're ready to move on from the cultural message that tells you selflessness is a virtue (while you stay stuck overwhelmed, over-worked and exhausted).

Committed to your own wellbeing. You know that in order to make changes to the way you feel, you need to commit to showing up for yourself with consistency and you're ready for that.

Curious about movement and the capacity of your body.

Invested in caring for your mental wellbeing and understanding the mind-body intersection.

Tired of dealing with constant muscle tension and not knowing what to do to shift it and manage it.

Ready for new ways to manage emotional overwhelm and SO ready to learn ways to be kind and compassionate toward yourself.

Looking to practice from home using on-demand and/or livestream classes.

The SelfKind Hub WON'T be for you if you are:
Looking for a quick, magical fix to all that ails you.

Wanting a yoga practice that is hard, fast or 'shred' worthy.

Looking for in-person classes at a studio.

Not looking for online classes and on-demand sessions.

Not highly sensitive.

A little about me (Erica Webb), founder of the SelfKind Hub; Registered Counsellor, Somatic Exercise Coach and Yoga Teacher.

I feel like my mission in this life has (and continues to be) to learn to love myself, just as I am and to take what I know and share it with you.

Yes, I'm a counsellor and movement teacher. Yes, I have a lot of experience, tools and resources up my sleeve. But my biggest strength is my willingness to be myself.
As a recovering people pleaser and someone who has navigated life-long anxiety, trauma and self-criticism, the most profound gift I can offer is a reminder that we're in this together.

My values centre around compassion, curiosity, honesty and presence.
