SelfKind Nurture

A 12 week online small group program for Highly Sensitive People

For the deeply sensitive who are finally ready to partner with their sensitivity rather than push against it. It's time for nurture.

Over 12 weeks, nurture yourself and your sensitivity with curiosity, understanding and compassion. SelfKind Nurture provides the space and tools to embody self-kindness; because your sensitivity asks for your respect, not your criticism.

Your sensitivity is not a sign that you're broken or 'doing it wrong'.

Nor is it a sign that you're not trying hard enough or that you're missing something that everyone else seems to get.

But I know it can feel that way.

Oh how I know.

If your sensitivity isn't a sign that you're broken, why does it feel that way?

It might be because your sensitivity is a responsibility that needs tending to ...

A responsibility?

I know that sounds kinda serious ...

and that's because it is.

If you don't look after your sensitivity?

You risk feeling exhausted, resentful, on edge and burned out.

If you're sensitive but you expect yourself to show up in the world like you're not?

Oof, that's hard-going.

Being sensitive isn't something you can turn on and off. It isn't something you can shame into compliance or criticise into a thick skin.

But maybe that's what you've been trying to do?

I know that was my strategy for the longest time. It just never worked.

If you're ready for something else; if you're ready for nurturing, keep reading.

Instead of shame, your sensitivity asks for:

  • Your compassion, care and understanding.

  • You to honour your capacity, tend to your needs and be mindful of your boundaries

  • You to befriend it (that is, to befriend you!) and get on its side.

If these things are missing, your sensitivity can totally feel like a sign that you’re broken. When you constantly override your needs and capacity ... something's gotta give. Then, if you pile criticism on yourself for how it all pans out, you're left exhausted, ruminating and anxious.

The more you push the worse you feel.

But if you don't push? You feel guilty.

Lose. Lose.

Being a sensitive person shows up everywhere ...

In a mind that seems to run on overdrive.

In a body that holds so much tension.

In a self-relationship that tends toward critical.

The answer isn't to try to be less sensitive or more 'normal' (whatever that means).

Your sensitivity is asking for your understanding, respect and compassion.

In SelfKind Nurture you'll learn:

  • To understand your sensitivity and what it truly needs

  • How to access a sense of safety even in the midst of challenging emotions or self-doubt

  • How to foster a kind inner voice

  • How to ease physical tension in a gentle, restful way

  • Strategies for identifying what really matters to you and how to align your actions with that

  • How to soften the inner critic and untangle yourself from guilt, shame and 'shoulds'

You're not alone

Something I often hear from highly sensitive people is that they feel different and alone.

But something I know for certain?

There are loads of us out there.

Being sensitive might put you in the minority,

but it's a minority that's large in number!

SelfKind Nurture is structured specifically for community support.

Yep, us sensitive types are often introverted, but we also crave depth of connection and understanding. In SelfKind Nurture, you'll have the opportunity to connect with a small group of humans who get it.

I'm capping participation at 12 people so that you get connection without overwhelm.

SelfKind Nurture is your permission slip to embrace your sensitivity.

And it's the steps that help you get there.

Finally get on your own side

SelfKind Nurture is a loosely structured program.

Loose, because it's designed to respond to the people in it;

your questions, your challenges and your goals.

Yes, we have a curriculum (I'll share more of that below).

But more than that, we have an intention:

to nurture you and your sensitivity and to get you on your own damn side!

When you're on your own side, tuned into your own needs, desires, values and boundaries, life's challenges are gentler to navigate.

So what is this 'loose' curriculum?

SelfKind Nurture centres around the GRO framework.

GRO stands for: Ground, Release, Orient.

These are three skills that help you, as a highly sensitive human, to:

  • access a sense of safety, even when self-doubt or the inner critic pipes up

  • release physical tension and well-worn but out-grown protective mechanisms (think the loud inner critic, the masking, the perfectionism)

  • align yourself with what matters most to you - including the relationship with yourself that you most deeply desire

Over the 12 weeks of SelfKind Nurture, we'll explore these skills using a number of different tools, storytelling, self-enquiry and conversation so that you can put them into practice in your life.

Then, we come together to workshop what feels tricky, where things need to be adjusted or tailored to your needs.

Ultimately, SelfKind Nurture has some structure, along with lots of space for exploration and side-quests that benefit the group.

Is this right for you?

SeflKind Nurture could be right for you if:

⭐️ You identify as a Highly Sensitive Person (you might also be autistic, ADHD or AuDHD, but not necessarily)

⭐️ You are tired, tense and find yourself frequently overwhelmed

⭐️ You have a hard time meeting yourself kindly, but you really want to

⭐️ You have tried (or continue to try) self-care practices but they don't seem to help as much as you'd like them to

⭐️ You want support from someone who gets it - and who will support you gently, while fostering self-agency

⭐️ You want to connect with other like-minded sensitive people and benefit from the group structure.

It's not for you ...

SelfKind Nurture won't be right for you if:

🟠 You're not highly sensitive!

🟠 You are currently experiencing a crisis or challenge that is better suited to 1-1 support (you can contact me to discuss if you're not sure)

🟠 You won't contribute to group conversation and enquiry (which is totally fair - it just might mean that 1-1 is a better fit)

🟠 You want your sensitivity to be fixed or banished

🟠 You can't attend calls live, at least most of the time

🟠 You live in North America (USA or Canada). Unfortunately this is a limitation of my insurance. Annoying, but non negotiable.

Join me for SelfKind Nurture

Because SelfKind Nurture is designed for a small group of up to 12 people, I'm taking applications, rather than having a direct button to sign up.

When you click below, you'll be taken to a Google Doc and asked to answer just a few questions.

Don't worry, it's not a quiz - there's no right or wrong! It's more a way of creating, right from the get-go, a sense of intentionality in the space. This is not a 50-person group. It's small on purpose.

By filling out the form you are not committing to joining us - just expressing your interest. Upon receiving an invitation to join, you make the final call to join (I aim to reply within 48 hours of application).

Who am I?

Hello! I'm Erica Webb - your facilitator for SelfKind Nurture.

I'm a Registered Counsellor, Somatic Exercise Coach, Yoga Teacher and a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP). I'm also late diagnosed Autistic and ADHD (AuDHD).

I've had my fair share of tripping over and running into the tricky bits of my high sensitivity. Honestly? I've hated it at various times. I've dealt with anxiety, panic, trauma ... and the painful thought that maybe I was broken. Over years I've learned to love myself - a reality that always felt far away and conceptual. The pathway there was one of choosing self-kindness, nurturing self-compassion and learning to respect the sensitivity that is an inherent part of who I am.

In my work, I support other Highly Sensitive and Neurodivergent people to find the strategies and tools that support them to live with more self-kindness and compassion, too. It's an honour and privilege to do so.

I'm also a mum to two school-aged (also highly sensitive) boys, fur-mama to a best-friend cat and dog duo, a book and indoor plant lover, a rollerskating enthusiast, novice basketballer, skier and chocolate-chip-cookie-making (and eating) magician.

My qualifications include:

- Master of Counselling
- Master of Arts (Writing)
- Bachelor of Behavioural Science
- Diploma of Counselling
- Diploma of Classical Yoga

- Somatic Exercise Coach certification
- Certificate of Mat Pilates

Questions + Answers

When are the course calls?

Group calls are scheduled to commence at 9:00am on Sunday mornings throughout the program. Please note this is Australian Eastern Time Zone (Melbourne). Calls will run for 1.5 hours each.

What if I can't attend live?

It is highly recommended that you attend calls live. Being a group program, you'll miss some of the magic of being in the room if you rely on replays. I understand that sometimes it's inevitable you'll miss a call here and there, but if you know the time won't work for you, this might not be the right fit for right now.

What do I need to participate?

Access to Zoom and a computer (or phone). No special equipment required. Some materials will be printable, but if you don't have access to a printer (or a desire to print stuff) you can use a pencil and paper (or digital device) instead.

How much time do I need to commit each week?

Our weekly live calls are scheduled for 90 minutes each. In addition, there will be some stuff to explore between sessions. It might be a practice that takes you five minutes a day or something that asks for a bit more time. But, because we're focusing on integration and spaciousness, it's really about what's doable in your life - I won't ask more than you can give!

Hm, group stuff - how does this compare to 1-1 counselling?

1-1 counselling is ace. But it can add up quickly - weekly counselling at $150 per session is $1800 over 12 weeks. Which is fine ... unless it isn't. Group work isn't better or worse than 1-1 work. It's simply different. In fact, a lot of the insight and growth you'll experience in SelfKind Nurture will be because of the group, not in spite of it. We are a social species. Shared humanity matters. The tools we're working with are the same tools I use with my 1-1 counselling clients, applied to a group.

What if I don't want to share with the group?

I will never force anyone to share anything they don't want to share. All I ask is that you're present and open - that openness doesn't mean spilling your deepest stuff, it simply means showing up to be in community with the capacity that you have to do so.

Is there any yoga or movement involved in the program?

Movement is not the primary exploration in this program, but it does feature as a strategy within the 'Release' element of GRO. Throughout the SelfKind Nurture program you will have free access to the SelfKind Hub and I strongly encourage you to engage in some classes to support the unwinding of physical tension. We will cover some of this in SelfKind Nurture, but it won't be full-length classes.

Is this suitable for everyone?

Nothing truly is, is it? So, no. See above for who this program is and is not for. If you're not sure, email me (erica@ericawebb.com.au) and we can chat about it.

How long can I access course content for?

You will retain access to the course portal for 16 weeks. You will be able to access replays and all materials during this time (some will be downloadable for you to keep). After 16 weeks, your access to to the program will cease. I highly encourage you to stick with it live for the 12 week period.

I'm not based in Australia. Can I join?

That depends on where you live ... If you're in North America (USA or Canada), unfortunately the answer is no. This is a limitation of my insurance, but sadly non-negotiable. Any other locations are a-ok.
